Richard Lu's Major Awards

In recognition of Richard Lu’s efforts to promote Traditional Chinese Culture, Buddhism, and World Peace, the UK-based Unity of Faiths Foundation honoured Lu with the ‘World Peace Award (Buddhism)’ and the title of the Ambassador for World Peace Ambassador for World Peace’ in July 2012.

The Unity of Faiths Festival was one of the events in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. In September 2012, Lu was invited to give a public talk at Harvard University. In October 2012, he received the ‘British Community Honours Award’ at the House of Lords, United Kingdom.

Richard Lu was invited to attend a global summit at the United Nations Headquarters in New York as a keynote speaker. The objective of the summit is to formulate a road map for a culture of peace as conflict prevention and mediation. In appreciation for Richard Lu’s dedication and service to the promotion of education to nurture a culture of peace, the summit awarded Richard Lu with the title “Ambassador of Peace Education”.

2012

“British Community Honours Award” – House of Lords, United Kingdom

On 1st October 2012, the award ceremony took place at the UK Parliament House. This award was presented by members of the British Royal Family and it is one of the highest recognitions of the Commonwealth ethnic communities.

2013

“ICD Award for Exceptional Contribution and Peace Advocacy to the Global Community”- Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin, Germany

On 2nd December 2013, Master Lu received the “ICD Award for Exceptional Contribution and Peace Advocacy to the Global Community” presented by the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD).

2014

“World Peace Ambassador” – US Congress

In March, awarded the title “World Peace Ambassador” at a global summit on world peace held in the US Congress.

“Honorary Visiting Professorship” – University of Siena

In April, awarded Honorary Visiting Professorship by the prestigious University of Siena in Italy, under its Master Program in Global Governance and Cultural Diplomacy.

2015

“Outstanding Achievement Award” – Museum of Tolerance, Los Angeles

“Outstanding Achievement Award” by representatives from IPCGE and Foundation Culture of Peace.

2018

“International Ambassador for Religious Peace” and “Outstanding International Ambassador for Philanthropy” – House of Lords, UK

“International Ambassador for Religious Peace” and “Outstanding International Ambassador for Philanthropy” by Baroness Cox, member of the House of the Lords.
